About the artist
Tony San was born in the peacefully green landscape of Poland and moved to South-Germany at the age of 3. Since being young Tony was in love with colors, tiny details and Ketchup. Tony spent hours drawing little canvases and wanted to study art but her parents didn’t support this path and convinced her to study IT instead. For some years she lost her passion for the lovely world of colors but still developed creative solutions in her daily life and work – desperately trying to turn her IT topics into art. One day her sister found some old drawings from Tony San and decided to gift her some oil colors as a birthday present – combined with the words “never stop painting – I don’t know how but you really have an eye for special things”. From this day Tony continued with her passion and started again to create art, finding her way more and more into abstractism. Growing up she also lived in Dublin, Singapore and finally moved to Berlin where she opened her first atelier in november 2020.
As an inspiration Tony San defines “flow energy playing with levels and contrasts”. She integrates in her pieces deep layers and heights which drags the observer into the artwork. Using as material mainly oil colors, wood, and canvas. She invites the viewer to surf the energy flows, waves and emotions. Troublesome and energizing – calm and relaxing, just a few juxtapositions of how playful Tony’s art drags and jumps.
