About the artist
Daniela Schwabe (NL 1984) is a Berlin based painter from the Netherlands. In her painting practice she investigates the impact of history and remembrance by using the medium painting to draw parallels between historical facts, familytrauma’s and contemporary problems of the trustworthiness and value of images. The series FUTURE MEMORY speculates specifically on the intersection of art and technology by building a new structure for the reflection of memory and the impact of images on the way memory is conceived by working together with artificial intelligence. Recent exhibitions include her 2020 soloshow ‚DEEP FAMILY‘ at gallery Dudokdegroot in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, exhibitions in Berlin and Leipzig during her residencies at GlogauAIR and LIA Leipzig in 2019 en 2020, museum het Valkhof, Nijmegen and others. Her work was shown in the Netherlands, Germany, USA, Italy and Belgium and is part of different art collections as DELA and De Nederlandsche Bank.
